William "L.G." Cassell

William “L.G.” Cassell, 88, of Fieldale, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at his home. He was born in Henry County on June 14, 1932 to the late Lester Cassell and the late Elizabeth Joyce Cassell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Elder Leonard Cassell, Ralph Cassell, Daniel Cassell, George Cassell, Watt Cassell, Troy Cassell and Cesal Cassell; sisters, Ida Cassell and Vinie Joyce.

L.G. was a member of River View Primitive Baptist Church. .

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Annie Turner Cassell; sons, Allen Cassell (Notra) of Bassett and Kenny Cassell of Martinsville; daughter, Stacey Cassell of Bassett; grandchildren, Joey, Heather, Casey and Ashley Cassell; a great-grandchild, Maddie; sisters-in-law, Eloise Cassell, Edna Cassell and Velma Cassell; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends may stop by the funeral home Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM to view and sign the register for L.G. without the family present. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Roger Moore and Pastor Bud Sedwick officiating. Burial will follow in Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is required and social distancing is to be observed.
