Harve Henderson Burdette

June 8, 1950 - January 9, 2021

On January 9th, 2021, Harve Henderson Burdette, 70, of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord.

Born in 1950, he served in the US Army and went on to retire from Norfolk Southern Railroad.

He was preceded in death by a daughter Dreama Faye Burdette, his dad Raymond Burdette, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other extended relatives. He is survived by his loving wife of over 53 years Theresa Faye Burdette “Baby”, his son Chad Burdette and wife Dawn, his daughter Crystal Greer and husband Dennis, grandson Tyler Burdette, granddaughter Kayla Greer, and his mama Rachel Stump.

Harve loved the Lord and his family. He enjoyed the simple things in life like fishing and just being outdoors surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help someone if he could. Of the many friends he had throughout his life, he thought the world of Ralph Hicks and his children, as well as Billy Gayle, who he thought of as a brother.

Heaven is sweeter knowing our loving husband, Daddy “Pops”, Pawpaw, son and friend has gone on to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Although our hearts are heavy, we have peace knowing we will be with him again in Heaven for eternity.

Harve would want everyone to remember him with joy, not sadness, to cherish the good times, and to search your heart and make sure it’s right with the Lord. So many of us prayed for a miracle. With Harve’s passing, we’ve now witnessed the ultimate miracle, which is eternal life by knowing Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.

The family will plan Harve’s celebration of life service at a later date.
