Samuel L. Collier

Samuel (Pug) Lurty Collier, Jr., 84, of Ridgeway, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at Roanoke Memorial Carilion Hospital. He was born May 1, 1936 to the late Lillian Collier and Samuel Lurty Collier, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Knight and Willie Kellam; and brother, Jimmy Collier.

Mr. Collier graduated from Henry County Public Schools, and attended Wayside Baptist Church. He enjoyed The Washington Redskins, and WWE, and spending time with family and friends. He had been employed with National Exterminators for 20 plus years.

He is survived by his wife, Ocie Crowder Collier; daughter, Lisa Barnes; granddaughter, Carrie Wheeler; great-granddaughter, Madison Arnold; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at Mountain View Cemetery with Billy Hicks officiating. A floating visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2021, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
