Millie Jean Willis Robertson
Millie Jean Willis Robertson passed away on January 16, 2021 under Hospice Care in her daughter's home in Concord, NC.
She was born September 23, 1930, daughter of the late Jesse C. Willis and Gladys Hughes Willis.
Millie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was loved by all who knew her. She was a pastor's wife to her late husband, Rev. Austin Robertson, of 69 years as he served in multiple churches in Virginia and North Carolina. Among her many giftings was hospitality- she loved cooking for her guests. She was known for her fabulous chocolate pies. She served in many capacities as pianist, Sunday School teacher, Ladies Ministries leader, and anywhere else she was needed. Since moving to Martinsville after her husband retired from pastoring, she has been a member of Mount Calvary Church in Axton. She loved people and never met a stranger.
Millie was always busy whether in the home, at church, or at work. She held many positions in the many towns they lived in while pastoring. She worked until she was 80 years old when the company closed her department.
She will be greatly missed by her family, son, Gary Robertson, (Ann) of Martinsville, VA, daughters, Denise R. Tanner (John) of Lincolnton, NC, Dana R. McNeill (John) of Concord, NC, Dianne R. Key (Ron) of Gastonia, NC., grandchildren, Chris Tanner, Meredith Haynes, Julie Haney, Seth Robertson, Angel Williams, Jacob Todd, Amber Lykins, Lindsay Massey, and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Austin. Also preceded in death by her brother Roland B. Willis, grandson, Matthew Robertson, and great-granddaughter Tinley Lykins.
