Russell Franklin Davis

If you can't Stop, Wave!" Surrounded by his children, Dad waved goodbye to this earthly home and walked into the arms of Jesus on Saturday morning, February 9, 2019. Russell Franklin Davis, 88 was born in Bedford County on May 15, 1930, a son of the late John William Davis and Dollie Hensley Davis. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Betty Campbell Davis; his brothers, Willie, Warren, Howard, James and Clarence Davis and his sisters, Annie Pearl Davis and Mary Davis Gardner.

Left to cherish his memory are this children, Glenn Davis & wife, Brenda, Ronnie Davis & wife, Trish, Deborah Reynolds & husband, Charlie, Mark Davis & wife, Rhonda and daughter, Amy Clark. He is also survived by brother, Andrew Davis & wife, Ella, Bob Davis, Sherman Davis & wife, Ruth; a sister, Fannie Davis Gardner and sisters-in-law, Mary Markham Davis & Velma Crouch Davis. Dad will be missed by twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren and a step-great great granddaughter. He also leave behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dad will be remembered by many in the community for his rock handiwork and small jobs after retirement and giving of vegetables and apples he grew.
Dad had a great love for all sports, especially hunting and fishing.

The family expresses a great appreciation to Seven Hills Hospice and their wonderful care.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Sedalia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Jones conducting the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his loving wife. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Sedalia Baptist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
