Calvin Neal Brooks

Calvin Neal Brooks 68, of Bassett passed away on Sunday April 11. He was born on February 11, 1953 in Rocky Mount the son of the late Harold Thomas Brooks and the late Bertha Irene Dorsey Brooks. He was also preceded in death by a infant sister Martha.  Calvin was a Franklin County Speedway race car driver #00.
Surviving is his loving wife Dianna Kay Brooks, three daughters and spouses; Panzie, Sherry (Robert) and Kelly (Tony).  Also surviving are 6 granddaughters and spouses; Dianna (Mark), Pamela, Shannon (Patrick), Shelly (Rufus), Arianna (Vincenzo), Fabiola (Davide), 2 grandsons; Gianluca (Maria), Gennaro, 4 Great granddaughters; Izzy, Isabella, Lilly and Alessia, 2 Great grandsons; Trey and Antonio.  Calvin is also survived by brothers and spouses; Paul (Sandra) Roger (Rachel), Larry and Melvin. Also are several nieces, nephews, other family and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 16 from 5-6 p.m. in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with a service to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Curt Ashley officiating.
