George Robert Hagwood

George Robert Hagwood, 66, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born April 29, 1954, in Patrick County, Virginia to Mattie Elizabeth Penn Hagwood and the late Posey Lester Hagwood. He had worked for Bassett Furniture. Mr. Hagwood enjoyed fishing, socializing and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by daughters, Dena Reynolds (Tywane) and Shavanna Johnson (Kevin); sons, George Penn, Richard Hagwood and Darrell Hylton (April); sisters, Mary Penn (David), Nannie Hylton (Lawrence), Wanda Welch, Betty Hagwood and Shirley Dodson; brothers, Joseph Hagwood, Sammy Hagwood (Gloria), Moses Hagwood (Wanda) and Thomas Hagwood (Ivy); and twelve grandchildren.

The Graveside Service will be Monday, May 3, 2021, at 11:00 A. M. at Mount Nebo Holiness Church in Critz. There will be a floating visitation Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
