Patricia Simmons (Tootie) Ballengee

Patricia Simmons (Tootie) Ballengee of Moneta, VA, went to be with her Heavenly Father Thursday, June 13th, 2019 at the age of 74.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Walter Ballengee; daughters, Dorinda Kaye Nolen (husband Dallas) and Tammy Marie Ballengee-Conner (husband Jackson) and son, Samuel (Randy) Ballengee; grandchildren, Katie Nolen, Sam Nolen, Jacquelyn Persiani (wife Rachel), Markus Ballengee, Mason Layne, Elliott Ballengee, Nolee Ballengee; great-grandchildren, Jayden Nolen and Allie Pace; siblings, Johnny Simmons (wife Ginger) and Linda Gregory (husband Willis) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her mother, Ruby Waterfield; father,Thomas Simmons; step-father, Raymond Waterfield and Uncle Bill.
Siblings, DeeDee Simmons, Marion (Ladybug) Jordan, Annette (Doodle) Arnold, E Ray (Winkie) Simmons and James Simmons.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, she was a loving wife to her husband, mother to her children, grandmother and great grandmother to her grandchildren.
She was truly the cornerstone of the family. She led them with dedication and generosity. Her giving spirit touched everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her. Her first priority was to love and provide for her family, and she inspired everyone that crossed her path to live the same way. Her life was truly an example of Christ-like love. She will be missed for her beautiful smile, her warm hugs, her witty personality, her delicious cooking, and most of all her unwavering, unconditional love for her family.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Larry Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
