Mildred Hall Ligon
Mildred Hall Ligon, 84, of Salem, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 15, 2019.
She was the daughter of the late Nellie and Luther Ratliff. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Chester P. Ligon; stepson, Lewis Ligon; grandson, Joshua L. Wilson; four sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by her sister, Lillian R. Woods of Salem; children, Patricia H. Wilson of Salem; Melinda S. Harris and husband, Wayne, of Floyd, and Michael E. Hall and wife, Susan, of Salem; grandchildren, Jason Wilson and wife, Tamara, Ben Seales and fiancée, Caroline Hollandsworth, Luke Harris and wife, Samantha, Brandon Harris and wife, Olivia, Sarah Hall, Jennie Mongan and husband, Quinn, Caroline Hall, and Jessica Hughett and husband, Charles; great-grandchildren, Ariana and Ella Wilson, Liam Mongan, and Eli and Chance Hughett; four step-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very loyal companion, her dog Gracie.
Mildred was an accomplished upholsterer and owned her own upholstery business for many years. Her family and friends meant the world to her, and she loved them with all her heart.
A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m., also in the chapel, with Pastor Don Woodard and Marty Loyd officiating. Interment will be private.
