Rebecca "Becky" Harvey Whitacre

Rebecca (Becky) Harvey Whitacre, 67, of Roanoke passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019.  She was preceded by her parents, Audrey and Mildred Harvey.
Becky was born in Hinton, West Virginia on December 2, 1951 and was a 1969 graduate of Northside High School.  She enjoyed gardening, dancing and a good cup of coffee.  She was a member of the Roanoke Valley 4 Wheel Drive Club and the Mid Atlantic Four Wheel Dirve Association.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Richard E. Whitacre; children, Elizabeth A. Whitacre (Scott Stafford) Richard A. Whitacre (Monica Jenkins); granddaughter, Sabrina J. Deaton; sister, Shirley Minter; brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law, Sam and Sandy Whitacre, Lewis and Morris Whitacre; nephews, Dion (Jessica) Minter, Jeff (Deanna) Whitacre, Richard Whitacre (Carol Walker); nieces, Lynne (Donnie) McDaniel, Tanya (Michael) Bailey; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment will be private.
