Carlton A Kidd

Carlton A. Kidd, 90, of Moneta, entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. He was a charter member of Southside Baptist where he was instrumental in the construction and founding of the church. He was a Korean War veteran who earned a Purple Heart. Carlton was a finish carpenter who was known for his expertise in the trade. He was the son of the late Ezra and Mary Holdren Kidd. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Shirley Buck Kidd; brothers, Elbert, Clarence, Howard, Garland, and Houston Kidd; sisters, Mabel Weaver, and best friend, Ella Jones.

Surviving family includes daughters and son-in-law, Karen Kidd, and Jennifer and Doug Meador; cherished grandsons, Wesley and Luke Meador; brother, Charles Kidd; sisters, Alice Sydnor and Lola Edwards; brother-in-law, Dennis Jones; sister-in-law, Jean Brooks; numerous nieces and nephews, and his furry friend Sassy.

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Glass officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
