James Hurst James, Jr.

James Hurst James, Jr., 80, of Dublin, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021. He was a member of Dublin United Methodist Church and a graduate of Virginia Tech. He was preceded in death by his parents, James H., Sr. and Mildred Fleenor James.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Laurie James of Dublin; daughter and son-in-law, Laura James Carter and Joe of Raleigh, N.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Jay James and Laura of Roanoke; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Bill Copenhaver of Salem; grandchildren, Reed James Carter, Joanna Carter, and Ella, Jake and Annaleigh James; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. with Rev. Don Shelor officiating. Interment will be private in Forrest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Dublin UM Church.
