Gary Wayne "Dawg" Robertson

Gary Wayne “Dawg” Robertson, 66 of Narrows, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at his home.  Gary was born on July 1, 1955, in Pearisburg, VA and was a son of the late Raymond Lee Robertson, Sr. and Carolyn Elizabeth Walters Robertson.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Florence McDaniel.  Dawg was a 1973 graduate of Narrows High School Greenwave.  He was U.S. Army Veteran and was a former employee of the Celanese Corp. in Narrows with 26 years of service.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved raising a garden to feed his family and to provide to the community.  Family was very important to him, spending as much time as he could with them.  He is survived by his wife, Lynne Bowles Robertson of Narrows, 2 sons, Edward Robertson of NC, Darrin Meredith of Narrows, three grandchildren, Courtney Spicer (Nathanael) of Narrows, Cameron Meredith of Narrows, Carrie Meredith (Zach) of Rich Creek, 3 great grandchildren, Adalynne and Avery Spicer, Gibson Myers, 2 brothers, Raymond Lee Robertson, Jr. (Kathy) of Narrows, Joseph Wesley Smith of Narrows and 1 sister, Cindy R. Stewart of Narrows.  Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 11:00am at the Givens – Riffe Funeral Chapel in Narrows with Pastor Tony Robertson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that you perform a random act of kindest or good deed to others, in honor of “Dawg”.  The family is being served by Givens – Riffe Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
