Douglas Anthony Simmons

Douglas Anthony Simmons was born on November 8, 1956, in Franklin County, VA. He made his transition from this Earthly life on July 30, 2021, at home with his loving partner by his side.
Douglas graduated from Franklin County High School in 1975. He worked for Mohawk Rubber Company for 18 years. After leaving there, he enjoyed providing lawn care services.
His father Roy F. Simmons and his sister, Davina M. Simmons, preceded Douglas in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, mother-Martha Pearl Simmons, life partner-Cassandra D. Holland, three daughters-Tyneka S. Wainwright, Sonya (Brian) Shrewsbury, and Ashleigh Holland, one brother-Adrian (Dorie) Simmons, four grandchildren-Paige Wainwright, Paiton Wainwright, Darren Shrewsbury, and Pilara Wainwright, one great-grandchild-Caleb Wainwright, nieces, nephews, and special friends (George and Brenda Huggins), and Smith Mountain Lake Family.
A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with Minister Tyneka S. Wainwright officiating.
