Shirley Ann Young Forbes

Shirley Ann Young Forbes, 72, of Bassett, VA passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019. She was born August 16, 1946 the daughter of the late Jack Daniel Young and Myrtle Hodges Young. She was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Wayne “Jimbo” Young. She was a lifetime member of the Bassett Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Gordon Wayne Forbes; son, Gordon Wayne “G.W.” Forbes, Jr. and wife, Amy; daughter, Misty Forbes Riddle and husband, Wayne; two granddaughters, Emmalee Grace Forbes, Trescella Joy Shaffer; two sisters, Jacqueline Wade, Barbara Fralin; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Don Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 noon till 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
