Peggy Narum Phillips

August 12, 1959 - June 30, 2019

Peggy Narum Phillips, 59, of Elliston, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2019. She was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.

Peggy enjoyed shopping trips with her daughter, taking long drives, collecting dragonflies, cooking (especially her famous Macaroni Salad), cleaning, laughing with her family until she cried, and just spending time with her loved ones. A long-time member of Roanoke First Church of the Nazarene, she was a faithful Christian. Peggy's career as an Advanced CNA at Friendship Manor for 27 years allowed her to minister and care for those who couldn't care for themselves. Caring for others was her life's calling.

She is the daughter of Theresa Simmons and the late Charles Simmons. She was married for 41 years to her loving and devoted husband, Charles R. Phillips. They had 3 children; Craig Phillips, Jeremy & wife, Samantha Phillips, & Aleasha Phillips. She was lovingly called 'Nani-Dragon' by her two adored grandchildren, Alexis & CK Phillips. Her caregiver and sister-in-law, Jean & husband, Eddie Harlow and special best friend & brother-in-law, David Phillips. She is also survived by numerous extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the chapel of John M Oakey & Son, Salem. Her nephew, Pastor Reggie Phillips will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to www.gofundme.com/f/peggyphillips.
