David Warren Hale

David Warren Hale, 70, of Bassett, died Friday, August 19, 2021 at the Salem VA Medical Center. He was born in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Warren E. Hale and the late Audrey Akers Hale. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Audrey C. Hale; two brothers, Steven Hale and Mike Hale.

David was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Korea and retired from the Henry County Public Service Authority.

He greatly enjoyed staying at Smith Mountain Lake where he would take his fur babies, Lucy and Bugar for rides on his golf cart.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Witt Hale; two brothers-in-law, David Witt (Carol) and Jerry Witt along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Sammy Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Burial Park with military honors.

Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the chapel.
