George Wesley Wood

George Wesley Wood, 73, of Salem, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021.

He was retired from the City of Salem Water Department after 20 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed keeping up with the Green Bay Packers, and especially enjoyed baseball. He loved his pets, but he adored more than anything his wife, his children, and his grandkids.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank and Geraldine Wood; and brother, David Wood.

His surviving family includes his loving wife of 45 years, Sylvia Wood; children, David Wood (Kimberly) and Leslie Scutellaro and husband, Michael; grandchildren, Kristen Wood, Justin Wood, Megan Wood, Tegan Wood, and Emery Scutellaro; brothers, Ronnie Wood and Murphy Wood; and many other family members.

The family expresses sincere appreciation to Vanessa and Good Samaritan Hospice for their loving care of George.
