Russell Joseph Johnson, Jr.

Russell Joseph Johnson, Jr, 72, of Salem passed away at his residence on September 17, 2021.
A native of Pennsylvania he was the husband of 50 years to Chrissy Johnson, who survives, and the son of Russell Joseph Johnson, Sr. and Edna Hineline Johnson, both deceased. Russell graduated from Virginia Tech in 1973 and was a member of the Hokie Club. He worked as a welder for the Roanoke Cement Company. Russell was also a member of North Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Erica Foote and husband Bryan and Jennifer Nininger and husband Tim; five grandchildren, Gage, Tori, Tanner, Taylor, and Michael; and his sister, Gloria Moore.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Brent Johnson.
A graveside service will be held in Sherwood Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 10:00 am.
