Bernice "B.B." Roher Walker

Bernice Roher Walker, affectionately known as “B.B.” 91, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home. She was born March 21, 1930, in Chatham, Virginia to the late Hobert and Luecinnie Davis Roher. She was a member of Callands Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker liked to fish, garden and play bingo. She especially loved planting flowers and tomatoes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Edmond Walker; sisters, Arlene Fuller, Shirley Tarpley, Vernell Hodnett and Matilda Adkins; brothers, Thomas Roher, Stanford Roher, Rhyland Roher, Colgen Roher and Cyrus “Maxie” Roher.

She is survived by her husband, James Elmer Walker; daughters, Marsha Law and Shelia Abdullah; sister, Martha Fuller; grandchildren, Dawn Hairston, Bilal Abdullah and Jelita Law; great-grandchildren, Anyah McClendon, Jaylen McClendon, Riyanna Hairston and Julian Brim; great-great grandchild, O’laya McClendon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 1:00 P. M. at Walker Family Cemetery, Trott Circle, Martinsville, Virginia 24112. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
