Anne Smith Arthur

Anne Smith Arthur, 97 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Hughes Home Nursing Home in Fredericksburg. She was born on Thursday, January 31, 1924 in Campbell County, a daughter of the late Theron Nokel Smith and Ora Mae Preas Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Albert Arthur, Jr.

She was a member of Bedford Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Chapter # 109 and the Belmont Garden Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna Anne Updike (Buddy), Brenda Gail Knight (Val), her granddaughter, Rhonda Cox Kolhagen (Craig) as well as her great-grandchildren, Chase & Brooke.

Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Terrace View Baptist Church Cemetery. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
