Chester Harlan Friedl

November 16, 1942 - October 17, 2021

Chester Harlan Friedl, 78, of Tazewell, Virginia, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, Sr. and Sallie Friedl; brother, Joseph “Joe” James Friedl, Jr.; and his loving wife of 53 years, June Ann Hughes Friedl.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Stephanie Friedl, and Jim and Danielle Friedl; grandchildren, Anna, Emma, Ella, and Evie; brother, Henry Friedl; brother and sister-in-law, John and Jean Friedl; sister and brother-in-law, Sallie and Otis Mann; and many other special relatives and friends.
Chester was a graduate of Athens High School, attended Concord College, and earned a pharmacy degree from West Virginia University. He played guard for the Athens High School Trojans when they won the 1959 Class A State Basketball championship. Chester was co-owner of Clinch Valley Pharmacy and 4-Way Pharmacy in Tazewell, and was an avid car enthusiast.
