Wanda Sue Williams Simpson

Wanda Sue Williams Simpson, 75, of Appomattox, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born in Ashland, West Va., on March 10, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Lillie Easter Bledsoe Williams and Walter Lee Williams, Sr. She was graduate of John I. Burton High School, Clinch Valley Community College, and Radford University. For 33 years, she taught school for Appomattox County Public Schools. Wanda was a license real estate agent and a member of Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two children, Donald Simpson and wife, Myra of Appomattox, and Cheryl Simpson-Freeman and husband, William N. “Bill” Freeman, III of Spout Spring; four grandchildren, Chase Simpson and wife, Leah, Nathan Simpson, Madeleine Sue “Maddie” Freeman, and Jacqueline Lou “Jackie” Freeman; one great- grand on the way; siblings, Melva Jean Peraldo (Leo) of Advance, N.C., Pat Perkins (Landon) of Collinsville, Walt Williams, Jr. (Gayle) of Appomattox, Janice Spiggle (Ronnie) of Lynchburg, and David Williams (Terri) of Hampton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Cole.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Janice Fraser and Pastor Jody Williams. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
