Otis C. Joyce

Otis C. Joyce, 87, of Martinsville, died Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Sovah Health – Martinsville.  He was born in Henry County on May 21, 1934 to the late Oscar R. Joyce and the late Dorothy Wimbish Joyce.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Zada Carter Joyce; son, Thomas Dean Joyce; step-grandchild, Jessica Kalinowski; brother, Murvin Joyce and sisters, Margaret Keffer, DeLois Stone and Shirley Triplett.
In the late 1960’s, he started his own business, Otis Joyce Plumbing (septic tank and pump installation). Years later, he established Otis Joyce Rental Properties and continued running until his death.  He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his children, Jimmy W. Joyce (Sandy), Anita J. Quinn (Elmer, Jr.), Cynthia B. Grindstaff (Richard); grandchildren, Kimberly Housman (Tony), Tiffany Plunk (Jeremy), Kacey Tyree (Joseph), Torri Scharver (Cody); step-grandchildren, Joseph Helms, Justin Helms; eight great grandchildren; sister, Eunice Baker and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may stop by the funeral home Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM to view and sign the register for Mr. Joyce.  For safety precautions, there will be a private family funeral service with burial  in Blackberry Baptist Church cemetery.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the funeral home.
