Shirley Ann Greer

Shirley Ann Greer, 70, of Bassett, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Sovah Health-Martinsville.  She was born in Stuart on June 27, 1951 to the late Randolph Martin and the late Annie Jane Martin.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Greer; her first husband, Homer Larry Greer, Sr.; brothers, Roy Martin, Demious Martin, Paul Lee Martin and Tom Martin.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Michael Goard (April) and Larry Goard (Robin) both of Bassett; daughter, Lisa Hiatt of Bassett; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Hopkins of Bassett; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Jason Alverson and Pastor David Gaylor officiating.  Burial will follow in the Wood, Goard, and Greer Family Cemetery in Bassett.
Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the funeral home.
