Leroy Murphy

Leroy Murphy, 78, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021. He was born October 29, 1943, in Henry County, to the late Charlie Murphy and Midget Harris Murphy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Ann Murphy and Eva Darlene Rios Morales; brothers, George Benny Murphy, Charles William Murphy, Frank Jerry Murphy and Jimmy Dennis Murphy.

Leroy loved dogs, horses, and fishing. He had an infectious laugh and a mischievous grin that kept his friends guessing at what he had done.

Leroy is survived by his daughter, Debra Lynn Fagg (husband Gary); sisters, Nancy Holliday, and Mary Ruth Cressell (husband Charles); brothers, Chester Murphy (wife Kathy), David Ray Murphy (wife Judy), and Mark Shawn Murphy (wife Wendy); grandchildren, Clinton Fagg (Scooter), Misty Cheek (husband Clint), and Logan Fagg (wife Jordan); great-grandchildren, Nicholas Fagg, Levi Cheek, Garrett Cheek, and Shawn Cheek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 3:30 until 5:00 p.m., at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. The family will also receive friends on November 26, 2021, at 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at 911 Applewood Road, Martinsville.
