Oscar Boyd Barker Jr., age 89, of Axton, Virginia passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. Oscar was born January 31, 1932.
Oscar B. Barker, Jr., age 90 of Axton, VA departed this life on November 19, 2021. He was one of eleven children born to Oscar Boyd Barker, Sr., and Elsie Burnett Barker. He is survived by one sister, Viola Compton and three sister-in laws, Nellie Barker, Eileen Overton and Irene Compton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Oscar was married to Bertha C. Barker who preceded him on February 20, 1998. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Axton Baptist Church. He lived his entire life in the Axton community and was a farmer and a carpenter. He loved nature especially watching birds from his porch. He fed any animal that came into his yard. He also loved gardening and sharing with his neighbors. As long as he was able, he regularly attended the flea markets, buying and selling.
