Rebecca (Becky) Leanna Payne Higgs

Rebecca (Becky) Leanna (Payne) Higgs, 82 of Roanoke, went home to be with the Lord on Sat., Nov 19, 2021. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Janice Waldron (Tim), grandson Kenny (Blake) Waldron, granddaughter Reathy (William) Hodges, Great Granddaughter Raven Johnson, brother James Payne, brother-in-law Wayne Gray, and sister-in-laws Martha Higgs and Ola Lee (Billie) Driskell, special friends Carl and Jean Flowers and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband Jim Higgs, parents Alfred and Mamie Payne, brother George Payne, and sisters Mary (Tootsie) and Barbara Nelson, and Patricia (Patti) Gray, mother-in-law Hazel Higgs, and sister-in-law Mary Payne, brothers-in-law Roy and Paul Nelson. Becky had a long and successful work career spanning several occupations including business and church administration, antique auctioning and working with special needs children. She had a very active life enjoying spending time with family and friends doing such activities as bowling, traveling, playing board games, and antiquing. She was a member of the Clearbrook Baptist Church and part of the First Christian Church family. She loved music, discussing current events and politics and had a witty sense of humor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentle Shepherd Hospice and special care giver Gloria McDaniel and members of the Clearbrook Baptist and First Christian Church families for all the cards, prayers, and support.
The family will recieve friends Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Lotz Vinton Chapel, from_2-4p.m. and 6-8 p.m. with the funeral taking place at 11:00 a.m. onNovember 24, 2021. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The service will be officiated by Pastors Bryan Ratliff and Jim Rivers.
