Alberta "Tootsie" Lee Penn

Alberta “Tootsie” Lee Penn, 72, of Bassett, Virginia passed away Friday, November 26, 2021. She was born February 13, 1949, in Stuart, Virginia to the late Ernest Preston Penn and Rosa Lee Penn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki P. Manns; sister, Elaine Clark; brothers, Dewey Penn, Bobby Penn, James “Wimpy” (Carrie) Penn, and Henry Lee Penn.

Alberta “Tootsie” loved Dr. Pepper, peppermint, cooking sweet potato pies, pound cake, coffee and her grandchildren.

Alberta “Tootsie” is survived by her daughter, Brenda Penn; sisters, Gloria Hagwood (Sammy), Marie Hairston (James), and Mary Niblett; brothers, David Penn (Mary), Willie Penn (Barbara); sister in laws, Beatrice Penn, and Burgie Penn; grandchildren, Shelisa Penn, Kendall Dodson, Anthony Harris, Briana Dodson, and Malcolm Manns; seven great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 12 P.M. at Mount Nebo Holiness Church with Pastor Melton Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Trinity Church of the Living God. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A floating visitation will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, from 5 P.M to 7 P.M.
