Lena Woolwine Scyphers

Lena Woolwine Scyphers, 96, of Roanoke gained her angel wings on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowry S. Scyphers; parents, brothers, and sisters.
Lena was a member of Hollins Road Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher at several different levels.  She was a former member of Hale's Ford Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Ona (Neil) Gillespie, David (Punky) Scyphers, Wanda Scyphers, Rodney Scyphers, Naomi (Jeff) Shelor; grandchildren, Elaina (J.W.) Shepherd, Laura (Tom) Pendleton, Seth (Lindsay) Gillespie, Brian (Alicia) Cuckler, Jasmine (Richard) Krause, Jessica (Brad) McDaniel; nine great grandchildren; brother, Sidney Woolwine; sister, Sylvia DeHart; very special friends, Mark and Debbie Bratton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Building Fund C/O Hollins Road Baptist Church 3502 Old Mountain Road Roanoke, VA  24019

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 2021 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  Interment  will follow in Evergreen Burial Park.  The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home.  366-0707
