Billy Harrison McDaniel

Billy Harrison McDaniel, 77, of Salem, VA, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He was born on Saturday, July 29, 1944, to the late Chester Harrison McDaniel and Marie Ella Terrell Purdue. He served his nation proudly in the U.S. Navy. Billy worked for Roanoke County for over forty years. He later became a member of the MOPAR club. To know Billy was to know his fascination of classic cars, and his love of music.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn A. McDaniel; son, Dwayne H. McDaniel; daughter, Dawn Ray and husband Shawn; grandchildren, Madison McDaniel, Jack McDaniel, La’nessa Hughson, and Brittany Garman; great-grandchild, Santana Hughson; and his favorite “girl”; Missy the cat.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 2021, at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA, with Pastor Greg Moser officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.
Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
