Larry “Monk” Wayne Barton, 61, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, December 8,2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver G. & Zetta Lee Atkinson Barton; brothers, Sydney Barton, Gary Barton & Steve Barton; sister, Laura Ellen Creasy.
Monk like to collect eagles and go fishing when he had free time. He loved spending time with his grandkids and picking on them.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Barton; daughter, Lacinda Lynn Barton (Brandon Yetter); grandchildren, Shyann Skyler Yetter & Brandon Michael Yetter, Jr.; sister, Connie Marie Brown; brother, Clyde Wayne Barton & wife, Karen; nieces & nephews, Belinda Marie Creasy (Landon Wilson), James “Jymmy” Creasy (Elicia Dickson), Melissa Monk, Robert Brown, Cassandra Barton & Nicole Barton; great-nieces & nephews, Mariah Nicole Williams, Alyssa “Miranda” Wilson, Michael Landon Wilson, Marcus Aaron Wilson & Nicholas Allen Brown; numerous other family & friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Montvale Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
