Howard Levere Breedlove

Howard Levere Breedlove, 88 of Axton, VA passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Breedlove was born on November 08, 1933, to the late John Howard Breedlove and Malana Bennett Breedlove. He retired from Hooker’s Furniture Company after 30 plus years of service. Then he become a caretaker for Hairston Adult Home for two and a half years.

He loved playing checkers, telling practical jokes, and spending time with family and friends. He was a faithful member of New Design Missionary Baptist Church until his health declined. Where he served as a deacon, the president of the Usher Board, and the burial ministry.

Mr. Breedlove was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Marie Fitzgerald Breedlove and his second wife Margaret Hairston Breedlove: four sons, Harry, David, James, and Chestly Breedlove; and one sister, MaeCora Poole.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa A Breedlove; seven sons, John H Breedlove (Hope), Samuel L Breedlove (Sheila), Lawrence Breedlove (Wynona), Kenneth W Breedlove (Jean), Michael A Breedlove (Diane), Keith O Breedlove (Phyllis), and Maurice L Breedlove (Diane); three sisters Vernell Hamlett, Ruth Valentine, and Linda Breedlove; four brothers, Bishop Edward Breedlove, Lawrence B Breedlove, George Breedlove, Bishop William Breedlove; 26 grandchildren and 31 great- grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends.

A floating visitation will be held on Tuesday December 14, 2021 from 3 PM-6 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday December 15, 2021 at 12:00 PM at New Design Cemetery with Pastor Tony Dillard officiating.
