Lewis Monroe Simpson

Lewis Monroe Simpson, 93, of Salem, Va., went to be with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
Lewis was the son of Lillian Nutty Simpson and Rufus Simpson.  He graduated from Jefferson High School and served in the US Air Force. Lewis is proceeded in death by his parents; three older brothers, Carlyle, Leonard and John; and his wife of 62 years, Irthel Mills Simpson.
Lewis leaves behind a sister, Elinor Dalton and her family along with many nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Buford Lumsden.  Lewis was a sweet and appreciative man who had a great love for the Lord and always had a smile for everyone he met.  He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him,
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11 a.m. in Sherwood Memorial Park with Chaplain Gary Kingery officiating.
