James William Peterson,Sr.

James William Peterson, Sr. 74, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born July 19, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Samuel G. Peterson, Jr. and Martha E. Tanghe Peterson. He attended Redemption Point Church. Mr. Peterson enjoyed building models of navy ships and collecting eagles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Marie Hall Peterson; and son James Peterson, II.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Peterson (Meredith) and David Peterson (Shannon); brother,
Samuel Peterson, III; and grandchildren, Madison Peterson, Kaylea Caulder, Zach Peterson and James Peterson, III.

The funeral will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021, at 11:00 A. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
