Leon D. Stanley

Leon D. Stanley, 90, of Roanoke, passed away December 29, 2021 at his home.  He was born on October 6, 1931 to the late William Henry Stanley and the late Fannie Leslie Stanley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Stanley and several brothers and sisters.
Leon was in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he was on the front line working on machinery.  He worked for Norfolk and Western Railroad for 40 years and was a long-time member of Clearbrook Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons and daughter – in – law; Mike Stanley, Mark Stanley and wife, Laurie; four grandchildren; Jory Stanley, Cody Stanley, Devin Stanley and Tessa Stanley; three great grandchildren; Ayden Stanley, Indiana Stanley and Atlas Stanley.
The visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Clearbrook Baptist Church.  The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, January 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Clearbrook Baptist Church with Pastor Bryan Ratliff officiating.  Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
