Jimmie Glenn "Pete" Stamper
Jimmie Glenn “Pete” Stamper, 89, of Salem, passed away Friday, August 2, 2019.
He was born in Princeton, WVA, a son of the late Thomas and Virginia Stamper. He was veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War. Pete was an avid golfer, and was the Roanoke Valley Amateur Mid-Seniors Champion in 1985. He loved UVA and Salem High School sports, and was a member of Salem Church of Christ. Most of all, Pete loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters and a son-in-law, Tracie Stamper Conley, and Julie Stamper Mullins and her husband Steve.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Regina Howard Stamper; daughter, Karen Vest and husband Johnny; a son, Tony Stamper and wife Nicole; grandchildren, Andy Mullins and wife Sarah, Jamie McKibben and husband Chuck, Jason Vest and wife Amy, Brian Hall, Brandon Hall and wife Rachel, and Emma and Audrey Stamper; great-grandchildren, Molly and Charlie McKibben, and Jacob, Benny and Luke Vest.
