Rosie Marie Hairston

Rosie Marie Hairston, 81, of, Bassett, Virginia passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, at the residence of her daughter. She was born September 20, 1940, in Patrick County, Virginia to the late Ernest Penn and Rosa Lee Hylton Penn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Alberta Lee Penn, and Elaine Clark; brothers, Dewey Penn, James (Wimpy) Penn, Bobby Joe Penn, and Henry Lee Penn.

Rosie loved to spend her time working puzzles and talking on the telephone with family and friends. She also attended Trinity Church of the Living God.

Rosie is survived by her husband, James Robert Hairston; daughters, Diane Bouldin (Wesley), Marie Montague (Jerry), and Janet Law ( Rodney); sons, James Hairston (Juttah), Jeremiah Hairston (Judy), and Winfred Hairston (Angie); sisters, Gloria Hagwood (Sammy), and Mary Niblett; brothers, David Penn (Mary), and Willie Filmore Penn (Barbara); fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

The funeral will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Trinity Church of the Living God. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to

service. A floating visitation will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
