James "Jay" Randolph Chambers, Sr.

James Randolph “Jay” Chambers, Sr., age 48, of Buchanan, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Lewis Gale Medical Center following a brief battle with COVID-19.

Jay was born in Roanoke October 8, 1973 and was the son of Ernest W. Chambers, Jr. and the late Shirley Lam Chambers. He lived in Buchanan most of his life. Jay was a welder and most recently worked for Landford Brothers Construction.

In addition to his mother Shirley, he was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Lam and sister, Deborah “Bunny” Chambers. Jay is survived by his son, James R. Chambers, Jr. of Buchanan; father, Ernest W. Chambers, Jr. and his brother, Ernie (Lisa) Chambers all of Buchanan; sisters: Theresa (Belve) Underwood and Evon Chambers all of Buchanan

A memorial service will be 7:00 pm, Wednesday January 19 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
