Evelyn E. Smith

Evelyn E. Smith, 76, of Martinsville, Virginia passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. She was born August 24, 1945, in Virginia to the late Claude Simmons and Mabel Bray Simmons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Smith, Jr.; son, Glen Easton, Jr.; brothers, Kenneth Simmons, and Coy Simmons.

Evelyn enjoyed spending her time cooking. She greatly loved her family.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Glenda Minter, and Angela Holland (Steven); sons, Richard Easton, and Gerald Easton (Juliana); sisters, Edna Taylor (Alvin), Peggy Bray, and Donna Powell (Donald); brother, David Simmons (Darlene); grandchildren, Brenda Swims, Ginnie Scott (Jamie), Adam Easton, Daylan Holland, Chase Holland, Tyler Holland, Khloe James; great grandchildren, Candace Taylor, Brayden Scott, and Rylan Scott.

The funeral will be held on, Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Compton Earles family Cemetery, 378 Gallery Road Axton, Virginia. The family will receive friends and family at other times at 906 Jefferson Circle, Martinsville, Virginia.
