Peggy O'Neil Watson

Peggy O’Neil Doss Watson, 91, of Appomattox, died Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Pearls of Life in Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late George Raleigh Watson.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on April 10, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Gwendolyn Smoot Doss and Aubrey Layfette Doss. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and a retired beautician.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Judy Watson of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Bob and Susan Watson of Knoxville, Tenn.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, Timothy Watson and fiancée, Lauren Killion of Atlanta, Ga., John Paul Watson and wife, Laura and their children, Rebekah Jane and John Parker of Richmond, Jeremey Watson and daughter, Shelby of Virginia Beach, Dawnielle Watson and sons, Corey and Robert of Virginia Beach, Breea O’Callahan and husband, Scott and their daughter, Audrey Jeanette of Virginia Beach; a brother, Joe Doss and wife, Ruth; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Foster and husband, Larry, Louise Doss all of Appomattox and Betty Justis and husband, Larry of Lynchburg, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nora and Mable and nine brothers, Randolph, Bud, Herman, Horace, Aubrey, Harold, Sam, Doug, and Gene.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Jonathan Watson. Burial will follow in the Old Herman Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
