Lois Garrett Paulette Franklin

November 30, 1927 - January 25, 2022

Louise Garrett Paulette Franklin, 94, of Appomattox, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. She was a faithful servant of God and a member of Hollywood Baptist Church of Appomattox.

Louise had an infectious personality and lived life to its fullest. No one ever left her home without being fed and feeling that her home was their home. She made everyone feel a part of her family through her laughter, kindness, and soulful music. Regardless of the problem, Louise always led with and embraced love first. When Louise was in high school, she was only required to complete the eleventh grade to graduate, and was the last class to do so before adding the twelfth-grade requirement. Louise worked forty plus years at the Appomattox Garment Company.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father, William Calvin and Beatrice Inge Garrett. Louise was blessed to have two families; married to Thomas Wilson Paulett for 37 years and William “Dick” A. Franklin for 24 years. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three of her children, Calvin Jackson Paulette, Janice Paulette Seay, and Dorothy “Dottie Beck” Paulette Bub; two sisters, Margaret G. Grishaw and Doris G. Fleshman; brother, David I. Garrett.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Louise Paulette of Appomattox, Charlotte “Charky” Paulette of Charlotte C.H.; a son-in-law, who has been more like a son, Charles Martin Bub of Appomattox; grandchildren, Greg May, Marsha Ballowe, and Ashleigh Seay (Christy); great-grandchildren, Corey May, Thomas Ballowe (Holly), and Brittney Holiday; great-great grandchildren, Duke and Penelope Holiday, and Levi and Logan Ballowe; sister-in-law, Hilda Garrett; and her precious fur baby, Foxy.

Louise’s family and extended family included so many dear to her heart: Bernita Dodd, Brenda Harris, Shirley Gowin, Mildred Cyrus, Roberta Austin, Mary Lucado, Jane Dunavant, Ginny Elder, and Jennifer Kress.

We want to give special thanks to all the caregivers: Eileen Erb, JaLisa Croner, Heather Cheatham, Ashley Smith, and the Gentle Shephard Hospice workers, Gwen Mosebrook and Tammy Moore.

The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27, 2022, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 28, 2022, at Rough Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Phillips and Rev. Dr. William Crystal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
