Herman Ray Conner, Sr.

Herman Ray Conner, Sr., 68, of Red House Road, Appomattox, died Sunday, February 6, 2022. He was the loving husband of Carolyn Pierce Conner.
Born in Halifax County, January 21, 1954, he was a son of the late Lena Hazelwood and Charlie Allen Conner. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Ray was a Truck Driver for Coleman & Sons for 50 years and loved playing music for everyone and dancing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Ray Conner, Jr., and wife, Pam of Appomattox, Jeff Conner and wife, Mary Beth of Concord, and Cristy Gilliam and husband, Clarence of Appomattox; one sister, Sterling C. Martin of Appomattox; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews whom he thought of as sons, Michael Ware and Brandon Ware.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Worley officiating. Burial will follow in Central Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
