William Meredith Helm

William Meredith Helm, 83, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 5, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Frances Helm; care giving grandparents, Frank and Louise Whitt; wife and high school sweetheart, Ann Boon Helm; second loving wife, Dorothy Meador Helm; and numerous special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Kyle Cook, Shirley Hunter, and Meredith and Cary Hunley; step-daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Troy Cook; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 12 o’clock, noon in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation at Lotz Funeral Home Salem on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, a cause that was special to him.
