Pauline V. Moore

March 28, 1929 - February 26, 2022

Pauline V. Moore, 92, of Staurt, departed her Heavenly home on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was born on March 28, 1929 to the late Moses & Rosa Bell Via.  She graduated from Patrick Central High School.  She worked at Bassett Superior Line for many years, as a dedicated factory worker until she retired. 
She was a dedicated member of Fresh Harvest Christian Church where she was an Elder and took pride in her position.  She also served on the kitchen committee.  Not only did she serve on her kitchen committee, but if any church needed assistance, cooking a meal or serving, she would be right there.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elder James Moore; her daughter, Wanda Lee DeShazo; her brothers, Chephus, Clinton and James “Gene” Via; her sisters, Vera Ball and Cornellia Garnes.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a son, Jesse “Wayne” (Patsy) DeShazo of Rocky Mount and Gentry (Sally) Via of South Carolina, Veraine (William) Randolph and Quinton Via both of Martinsville; her sister, Christian McAlister of Martinsville.  She reared Jessie Maurice (Natalie) DeShazo of Norfolk and Tiwianna (Kenny) Hairston of Martinsville; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 Friends and family may stop by the funeral home, Thursday, February 3, 2022 between 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM to view and sign the register book without the family present.  A funeral service will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Iron Belt Christian Church Cemetery in Staurt.
Due to COVID a face covering is recommended and social distancing should be observed when visiting the funeral home.
