Robert Lee Wade

Robert Lee Wade, 89, of Lynchburg, died on February 28, 2022, at his residence.
Born on November 5, 1932, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Rev. Herbert Howard Wade and Eva Tyler Wade. He owned his own business as a paint contractor for more than 60 years and for more than 39 years was a paint contractor for BWXT. Robert was a member of Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by a son, Kevin Lee Wade and wife, Vicki of Madison Heights; a daughter, Sheila Tolley and husband, Lee of Rustburg; three grandchildren, Tracey Shepherd and husband, Joe of Greenback TN, Bridgett Thompson of Prospect, and Brooke Dudley of Lynchburg; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Wade and wife, Carolyn and Wayne Wade both of Lynchburg; two sisters, Ruth Ann Coleman and husband, Warren of Spout Spring, and Tammy Daniel of Lynchburg; and a very special nephew, Eddie Manley of Lynchburg.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Katherine Wade, and his sister, Mildred Irving.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday March 3, 2022, at Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Robert Phillips II. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Bethany Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 4601 Promise Land Rd., Appomattox, VA 24522.
