George Charles Griffin

George Charles Griffin, 84, of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Martinsville Health and Rehab. He was born March 2, 1938, in Pennsylvania to the late Oswald Lee Shipman and Revonia Lee Bush Shipman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Revonia Sue Griffin; sons, Wendell Griffin and Dewey W. Hancock; siblings, James C. Shipman, Lillian Blankenship, Wade Shipman, Virginia Shipman, Nellie Griffin, Elizabeth Hancock, John Griffin, Jr., Mary Ann Griffin, James Griffin, Virginia Smith, and Beulah Griffin.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell South Griffin; daughter, Gaylynn Griffin; sons. George Griffin, Charles Griffin and Marvin Hancock; sister, Daisy Louise Lance; grandchildren, Codie Wayne Griffin, Dewey Lee Hancock, Lisa Marie Hancock; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, at 2:00 P. M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Pack Odell Family Cemetery, Ridgeway, Virginia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
