Kay Holland Higgins

Kay Holland Higgins, 76 of Ridgeway, Virginia passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at her home. She was born June 1, 1945, in Knoxville, Tennessee to the late John Spencer Holland and Maggie Jane Parker Holland. She was a member of Horsepasture Christian Church, loved animals and was a dog groomer. She was crafty, loved the beach, singing and was a farmer and pastor’s daughter. Kay had a special love and compassion for special needs people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Gene” Higgins; sister, Ranie Vartenisian; brothers, Alva Holland and Russell Holland.

She is survived by a daughter, Della Higgins King; son, Spencer Higgins; sisters-in-law, Dana Higgins and Nancy Bates; brother, Clyde Holland; brothers-in-law, Ronnie Higgins and David Bates; grandchildren, Edward King, Charles King, Ethan Higgins and Evan Higgins; special family friend, Marsha Neely-Wright; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 11:00 P. M. at Horsepasture Christian Church Family Life Center with Minister Kyle Thompson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Horsepasture Christian Church. Burial will follow at Horsepasture Christian Church Cemetery.
