Evelyn R. Scott

Evelyn R. Scott 92, of Bassett passed away on March 23, 2022 at Stanleytown Health Care.  She was born on November 9, 1929 in Roanoke, Va.  The daughter of the late Henry Simmons and the late Maude Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her 1st husband Thomas W. Royal, Sr.  Evelyn was a member of Mount Hermon Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
Surviving her loving husband, Wilfred Scott; two children, Susan Schwieterman (Johnathan) and Thomas Royal, Jr., five grandchildren; Tara Richardson (Marcus) Jennifer Schwieterman, Lucas Royal (Marcrina), Mollie Whitlock (Robbie) and Aimee Harris (Cole); seven great grandchildren; Khloe Martin, Donovan Richardson, Kamille Richardson, Berklee Richardson, Ridley Whitlock, Penelope Royal and Macklan Whitlock. Also surviving are five stepchildren and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
The visitation will be Tuesday, March 29 from 12 – 1 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 1 in the chapel of Bassett Funeral Service   with Pastor Noel Naff and Rick Randall officiating. 
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA of Martinsville and Henry Co, at 132   Jospeh Martin Hwy, Martinsville, Va. 24112 in memory of her beloved pet ChiChi.
