Ann Camper Kuhlke
Ann Camper Kuhlke, 93, of Narrows, Virginia, formerly of Mullens, West Virginia, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Ann was born in Mullens, West Virginia on June 5, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Stanley R. Camper and Bessie Otey Camper. In addition toher parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, James Eli C. Kuhlke, and her eldest son, John Robert Kuhlke.
Ann was a life-long member of The United Methodist Church in Mullens, West Virginia where she served as choir director, church pianist and organist for nearly two decades, she was active in her church circle, and The United Methodist Women where she served in several offices at the state level. After moving to Narrows she enjoyed fellowship at The United Methodist Church in Narrows. She served as an educator in Wyoming County West Virginia for many years where she especially loved teaching English. Ann’s favorite and most important role in life was that of a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother where her legacy will live forever.
Left to cherish Ann’s memory are her son, Karl Kuhlke (Jane) of Ohio, daughter, Sara Grimmett (Kenneth) of Virginia, grandchildren John Ross, Jeremy Ross, Adam Kuhlke, Christopher Kuhlke, Jenna Haycook, Rodney Ross, and Jeff Ross. Great grandchildren, David Ross, Jack Ross, Kate Ross, Hayden Kuhlke, Logan Kuhlke, Eli Haycook, Laurelai Haycook, and Quinn Kuhlke. The family would also like to mention and thank Ann’s caregivers and friends Patty Midkiff, Pam Hinkle, Crystal Coleman, Melissa Saunders and the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, all of whom provided excellent care and companionship in her final days.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, West Virginia on Sunday, March, 27 2022 at 2:00pm. The family asks that donations be made to the United Methodist Church or Good Samaritan Hospice be made in Ann’s name in lieu of flowers.
